Description

The Gosmelle is a slim, round LED downlight that sits on the surface of the ceiling rather than being recessed into it. It measures 28.5cm across and just 2.8cm deep, with a white steel body and a white plastic diffuser across its face. The LED is integrated, so there is no bulb to buy or change: it draws 20.5W and gives 2,400lm of warm white light at 3000K, a cosy, homely tone rather than a cool office white. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected from splashing water, so it can go in a bathroom as happily as in the drier rooms of the house.

In a bathroom it gives a clear, warm light without the glare of an exposed bulb, and a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone. It sits just as well in a living room or study, where 2,400lm is a generous output for a single ceiling light and the warm tone keeps the room relaxed in the evening.
