Description

Gosmelle is a round LED downlight in white that sits recessed into the ceiling, a slim white rim framing an opal diffuser. It measures 21.6cm across and needs a recess depth of just 2.6cm, so it suits ceilings with very little space above them. The LEDs are integrated, drawing 17W and giving 2,000lm of warm light at 3000K, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. It is rated IP20, which means it is made for indoor rooms that stay dry.

With 2,000lm from a single fitting, Gosmelle gives a small hallway or landing plenty of light, while several in a line suit a longer corridor or an open living area. The 3000K tone is the soft, homely light we would choose for hallways, living rooms, bedrooms and studies, and because the light is dimmable you can lower it for a calm evening. The flat face sits close to the ceiling line, which keeps low rooms and tight spaces feeling clear and uncluttered, and it gives you good overall light without a pendant in the way.

The body is steel and the diffuser is plastic, both finished in white, so the fitting blends quietly into a white ceiling. It has no switch of its own and is switched at the wall, running on 220-240V mains at 50/60Hz. As a wired-in mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a PDF download. The ceiling cut-out is 20.5cm, so if you are replacing older downlights, measure the existing holes first to be sure they match.
