Description

The Gorsewell semi-flush holds four ribbed and frosted glass shades close to the ceiling on a satin brass plate, giving a cluster of soft light in a room that cannot take a pendant. It measures 550mm across and drops only 144mm, which is shallow enough for a low ceiling, a loft bedroom, or a hallway where a hanging fitting would be in the way. Four G9 lampholders each take a 3W LED bulb, and the frosted glass keeps every one of them out of direct view. At 1.5kg it is a light fitting to hang, and the IP20 rating keeps it indoors and dry.

This is the flush ceiling light we would choose for a landing, a small hall, a bedroom under a sloping ceiling, or a kitchen where head height matters. What Americans call a flush mount, it gives the four point cluster look without the drop, and the ribbing adds enough texture that it does not read as a plain plate on the ceiling. Four shades across 550mm spread light more evenly than one central globe, which helps in a room with a door at each end.

The ceiling plate and shade collars are metal in a satin brass finish, warmer than chrome and quieter than polished brass, while each shade is frosted glass with ribbing that catches and breaks up the light. Dust the brass with a dry soft cloth and wipe the glass with a barely damp cloth, drying it straight away and keeping sprays and cream cleaners away from the finish. It is a Class 2 fitting, so no earth is needed. The same ribbed glass runs through the Gorsewell wall lights and linear pendant if you want the look repeated.
