Description

The Golden Cage is a vertical pendant light built around five stacked wire sphere frames in polished gold-finished metal, suspended on a single cable drop from a cylindrical gold canopy. An integrated 17W LED runs through the centre of the spheres, diffused by a white acrylic tube that casts warm 3000K light through the wire framework. Each sphere is approximately 139mm in diameter, creating a column of light and shadow as the LED interacts with the metal wireframe.

Designed for stairwells, double-height entrance halls and dining spaces with ceiling heights of 3m or more, the Golden Cage works as a focal point where vertical space allows the full length to be appreciated. The drop is adjustable between 76.8cm and 375.8cm on installation, meaning it can be shortened for lower ceilings or extended to its full length in taller voids. The wire sphere frames rotate slightly on the cable, so minor asymmetry in how the spheres align is typical and not a defect.

The polished gold finish reflects both daylight and artificial light, creating highlights that shift depending on viewing angle and time of day. The metal frame is lightweight but rigid enough to hold its shape without sagging, and the white acrylic diffuser tube prevents direct glare from the LED source while allowing the gold wire to cast geometric shadow patterns onto nearby walls.
