Description

The Glorix is a 73mm recessed downlight with a white metal trim and a single GU10 lamp holder. The fitting sits 20mm deep once installed into a ceiling void, creating a low-profile appearance where only the white bezel and lamp face remain visible below the ceiling surface. The fixed head directs light straight downward, making this a focused downlight rather than an adjustable spotlight.

Designed for general indoor ceiling lighting in kitchens, hallways, and living areas, the Glorix requires a minimum 60-70mm ceiling void depth for safe installation. The GU10 fitting accepts any standard GU10 LED, halogen or CFL bulb up to the lamp's rated wattage (sold separately), and the fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer and dimmable bulb.

The white powder-coated metal trim provides a clean finish that blends into white or off-white ceilings without creating a visual break. The 73mm cutout diameter is smaller than typical 90-100mm downlights, reducing the size of the ceiling aperture and making the Glorix suitable for installations where ceiling joist spacing or void depth limits the use of larger fittings. Ideal Lux backs this downlight with a 5-year warranty.

Frequently Asked

What ceiling void depth is required?

The fitting itself is 20mm deep, but you need a minimum 60-70mm ceiling void to accommodate the GU10 bulb itself plus clearance for heat dissipation. Measure your ceiling void before purchasing.

Is this suitable for bathroom use?

No. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

What bulb does it take?

The Glorix takes a standard GU10 bulb (sold separately). Most users pair this with a 4-7W GU10 LED in 3000K or 4000K depending on whether warm or neutral white light is preferred.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, the fitting itself is dimmable. You will also need a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible GU10-rated LED dimmer switch to achieve smooth dimming performance.
