Description

The Glacia-1 is a 90mm ceiling rose in white powder-coated metal with a magnetic pendant attachment point. The magnetic fitting allows a compatible pendant light to be attached, removed and repositioned without tools, making it suitable for lighting schemes where flexibility matters more than permanent installation.

Designed for kitchens, dining areas and retail environments where pendant positions may need adjusting as furniture layouts change, the Glacia-1 ceiling rose fixes directly to a standard UK ceiling outlet and provides a single magnetic contact point for the pendant. The magnet holds the pendant cable in place while the electrical connection runs through the centre of the rose. Moving the pendant requires disconnecting power at the circuit breaker, detaching the pendant and re-attaching at a different Glacia rose if multiple are installed.

The white finish is a smooth powder coat over metal rather than plastic, giving a solid feel and resisting yellowing over time better than cheaper polymer ceiling roses. The 90mm diameter sits flush to the ceiling with minimal projection, keeping the visual focus on the pendant itself. The rose works as part of Ideal Lux's Glacia magnetic track and multi-pendant systems, where several ceiling roses are installed across a larger area and pendants can be swapped between them.

What pendants are compatible with the Glacia-1?

The Glacia-1 works with Ideal Lux pendants that have a magnetic attachment fitting designed for the Glacia system. Standard pendants with fixed ceiling canopies are not compatible. Check the product page of the pendant you're considering for Glacia compatibility.

Can the pendant be moved while the power is on?

No. The pendant must be disconnected at the circuit breaker before detaching or repositioning. The magnetic attachment is mechanical only — the electrical connection runs through the centre of the rose and requires isolation before handling.

How is the ceiling rose installed?

The Glacia-1 fixes to a standard UK ceiling outlet using the screws and terminal block supplied. The mains cable connects inside the rose, and the rose cover then screws onto the base plate to conceal the wiring. A qualified electrician should carry out the installation.

Can multiple Glacia roses be installed together?

Yes. Multiple Glacia-1 ceiling roses can be installed across a ceiling, each on its own circuit or wired to a shared circuit depending on the electrical design. This allows pendants to be moved between positions as the room layout changes.
