Description

The Glacia-1 is a 90mm diameter magnetic ceiling rose in a brass finish, designed to support one pendant light through a magnetic coupling system rather than traditional hard-wired connection. The magnetic attachment allows the pendant to be removed and replaced without touching the ceiling wiring, making it possible to change pendants for seasonal styling or to rotate between different light fittings as needed.

Designed for dining rooms, bedrooms and living rooms where lighting flexibility is valued, the Glacia-1 suits installations where the pendant may be changed over time without calling an electrician for each swap. The brass canopy mounts flush to the ceiling via a standard ceiling rose fixing, and the pendant cable connects to the magnetic coupling rather than a terminal block inside the canopy. This system works best with medium-weight pendants — heavy multi-arm chandeliers or large glass fittings may exceed the magnetic hold strength.

The 90mm diameter gives the ceiling rose a compact presence that works in rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights without dominating the ceiling plane. The brass finish shows light directional brushing and develops a patina over time when exposed to air, giving it a warmer tone than polished brass. The canopy conceals the ceiling fixing screws and the electrical connection is made inside the canopy during installation, so the magnetic coupling on the underside is purely for pendant attachment.

How does the magnetic attachment work?

The pendant cable terminates in a matching magnetic connector that clips to the ceiling rose magnetically, allowing the pendant to be removed or swapped without unwiring the ceiling connection. What weight of pendant can it support?

The magnetic hold is designed for lightweight to medium-weight pendants. Single-bulb glass or metal pendants typically work well. Heavy multi-arm fittings or large glass shades may exceed the magnetic coupling strength and are not recommended.

Is the brass finish lacquered or does it tarnish?

Brass naturally develops a patina when exposed to air and humidity. The finish on the Glacia-1 will warm and darken slightly over time. If you prefer the original tone, the brass can be cleaned gently with a brass polish, but many users prefer the aged appearance.

Can multiple Glacia-1 roses be used on the same ceiling?

Yes. Each ceiling rose is an independent unit, so multiple Glacia-1 roses can be installed across a ceiling to create a multi-pendant arrangement, with each pendant individually removable via its magnetic coupling.
