Description

The Glacia is a 100mm ceiling canopy in brushed brass, designed to conceal the ceiling rose and wiring where a single pendant light drops from the ceiling. The circular metal plate sits flush to the ceiling with a central outlet that accepts the pendant cable and grip, providing a finished cover plate instead of leaving the ceiling rose exposed.

Used in dining rooms, hallways, bedrooms and kitchen islands where pendant lights are suspended from the ceiling, the canopy installs by fixing to the ceiling rose through concealed mounting points on the back plate. The 100mm diameter suits most standard UK ceiling roses and provides adequate coverage for typical residential installations. The brushed finish runs in concentric circles across the face of the canopy, giving textural depth under direct light.

The brass tone is a mid-warmth brushed brass rather than polished or antique — it sits between the high-shine of polished brass and the darker patina of antique brass. This makes it compatible with both warm-toned interiors and cooler greys without reading as either too formal or too aged. The metal construction provides structural support for the pendant cable grip and withstands the slight weight transfer when hanging a pendant light of typical residential mass.

Frequently Asked

What is the canopy used for?

The canopy conceals the ceiling rose and wiring where a pendant light cable exits the ceiling. It provides a decorative cover plate instead of leaving the electrical fitting exposed, giving a cleaner finished appearance to the pendant installation.

What ceiling rose does it fit?

The 100mm diameter suits most standard UK ceiling roses. Check your existing ceiling rose diameter before ordering — the canopy should be equal to or slightly larger than the rose to provide full coverage.

How is it fitted?

The canopy fixes to the ceiling rose through mounting points on the back plate, with the pendant cable passing through the central outlet. Installation requires basic electrical competence and should follow UK wiring regulations. If uncertain, engage a qualified electrician.

Can it support any weight?

The canopy provides decorative coverage only — the structural load of the pendant light is carried by the ceiling rose and ceiling joist, not by the canopy itself. The canopy's role is aesthetic, not load-bearing.
