The Gioia is a single pendant light built around an 8cm diameter smoked glass cylinder suspended from a polished chrome canopy on a black fabric cable. The cylindrical shade is cut from hand-blown glass with a grey-tinted smoke finish that softens light output while maintaining visibility of the E14 bulb inside. The chrome canopy sits flush to the ceiling and conceals the cable entry point, giving a clean mounting detail.

Designed for kitchen islands, breakfast bars, hallways and dining tables in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.2m, the Gioia provides both downward task light and a subtle upward wash through the open top of the cylinder. The adjustable drop ranges from 100cm to 178cm, allowing the pendant to be set 600-800mm above a worktop or 700-900mm above a dining table depending on the room proportions. The narrow 8cm footprint means multiple Gioia pendants can be hung in a row without visual crowding.

The smoked glass reduces glare from exposed filament or LED bulbs while still showing the lamp outline as a design feature when lit. The polished chrome finish on the canopy reflects ceiling light and pairs with stainless steel appliances, chrome tap fittings and metallic accents in contemporary kitchens. The Gioia accepts any E14 bulb up to 40W (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose warm white, daylight or decorative filament styles depending on the installation context.

What bulb does the Gioia take?

The pendant accepts a standard E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W warm white LED or a decorative candle-style filament bulb at 2700K for kitchen and dining installations.

Can multiple Gioia pendants be hung in a row?

Yes. The narrow 8cm diameter allows two or three Gioia pendants to be spaced 300-400mm apart along a kitchen island or dining table without overlapping visually. Each pendant requires its own ceiling rose and cable drop.

How is the drop length adjusted?

The cable length is adjustable between 100cm and 178cm during installation by shortening the fabric cable where it enters the canopy. Once installed and the canopy fixed to the ceiling, the drop length is set and cannot be changed without re-fitting.

Does the smoked glass reduce light output significantly?

The smoke tint reduces overall brightness by approximately 20-30% compared to clear glass, which softens glare from exposed bulbs but still provides adequate task light for kitchen worktops and dining tables when paired with a 4-6W LED bulb.
