Description

The Ginger is a plug-in LED wall light with a 42cm wood-effect disc shade suspended from a slim matt black metal frame. A small black reflector cup sits below the disc to bounce the integrated 12W 3000K LED light upwards into the curved underside of the shade, producing soft indirect illumination rather than direct downward glare. The shade reads as a pale oak veneer on top with a white-painted underside.

Designed for bedrooms, hallways, reading corners and living rooms where a hard-wired fitting isn't practical, the Ginger plugs into a standard UK 13A socket via its trailing cable. An inline rocker switch sits near the plug for everyday on/off, and a separate dimmer control module is mounted on the wall stem itself, allowing brightness to be adjusted from the fitting rather than from the floor.

The 40cm height and 35cm projection make it suited to bedside positions above a low table or headboard, and to hallway walls where a deeper traditional wall light would feel intrusive. The wood-effect finish on the shade contrasts with the matt black frame, giving the fitting a Scandinavian-leaning look that pairs with oak furniture, neutral walls and contemporary interiors. The integrated LED removes the need to source a separate bulb and runs at the warm 3000K colour temperature most commonly used in living spaces.

Does it need to be hard-wired or does it plug in?

The Ginger is a plug-in fitting. It comes with a trailing mains cable and a 13A plug, so it connects to any standard UK socket. The bracket on the rear of the wall stem screws into the wall to hold the fitting in place.

Is it dimmable?

Yes. A dimmer control module is built into the wall stem of the fitting, so brightness can be adjusted directly at the light. A separate inline rocker switch on the cable handles on/off near the plug.

Does it need a bulb?

No. The 12W LED is integrated into the fitting and runs at 3000K warm white. There is no separate bulb to buy or replace.

What kind of light does it cast?

The LED sits in the lower black reflector cup and shines upwards into the curved underside of the wood-effect shade. The shade then bounces the light back out as soft indirect illumination, which avoids harsh shadows and suits bedside, hallway and ambient living-room use rather than focused task lighting.
