Description

A square of crystalline glass set into a polished chrome frame, sitting tight against the ceiling and measuring 42cm across. The LED is built in behind the crystal, so light breaks across the cut faces and scatters small bright points onto the ceiling around it. The colour is cool white, 4000K, crisp enough to keep chrome looking bright and white paint looking clean. Seen from below it reads as a bright square rather than a dome, so ceiling lines stay simple. Switching is plain on and off, as it is not a dimming fitting.

We would fit this where a pendant would hang too low for comfort: a hallway with a modest ceiling, a landing, over a bed, or a small kitchen that wants even light rather than a focal point. The shallow body gives nothing to duck under and nothing to catch with a suitcase or a raised arm. It is one of the easier ways to get proper light into a room with limited height. Keep it to dry rooms inside the house, away from shower rooms and anywhere it would stand in steam.

Polished chrome and a mirrored finish carry the crystalline glass across the face, and the plated surfaces hold their shine well with very little attention. For care, turn the power off at the wall, run a dry microfibre cloth over the facets, then lift any fingerprints from the chrome with a barely damp cloth and a dry buff.
