Description

A shallow square panel of crystalline glass sits in a polished chrome frame, with a mirror finish behind it that throws the cut facets back on themselves. At 28cm across it is a compact fitting, sitting close to the ceiling rather than dropping into the room. The LED is integrated and gives a cool white 4000K light at 12W, bright enough to serve as the only light in a small room. Cool white reads clean and slightly crisp, which suits chrome and mirror well.

We reach for this one where a pendant would hang too low: hallways, landings, a box room, the head of a stairwell, or a bedroom under a sloping ceiling. The square outline lines up neatly with a doorway or a run of shelving, and the crystal gives a bit of glitter on the walls without the fitting taking up any real height. Light output is fixed rather than dimmable, so it works from an ordinary switch. Keep it to dry rooms indoors; a shower zone or an open porch wants something sealed instead.

The facets are crystal, set over a mirrored plate, and the visible metalwork is polished chrome. A dry microfibre cloth keeps fingerprints off that chrome; for the crystal, a soft brush lifts dust out of the cut edges, and any wiping is best done with the power off at the switch. It carries a three year warranty.
