Gin 22cm 1 Light Pendant Light - Black

The Gin is a 22cm diameter pendant light with a matt black cylindrical body suspended on a black fabric cable, featuring a smoked glass ring around the base that frames the downlight. A single GU10 fitting inside the cylinder allows the bulb to be changed without removing the pendant. The smoked glass diffuses the light edge while the open-bottom design directs most output downward as task or accent lighting.

Designed for kitchen islands, breakfast bars, office desks and bedside positions, the Gin works as a single pendant over a compact surface or in groups of two or three across longer counters. The adjustable drop from 215mm to 1500mm allows the pendant to be set 600-800mm above a worktop depending on ceiling height. The matt black finish on the metal body minimises reflections and pairs cleanly with black taps, drawer pulls and appliances in contemporary kitchens.

The smoked glass ring adds a subtle tonal accent without dominating the form, while the cylindrical shape keeps the pendant visually compact when hung at eye level in an open-plan space. What bulb does the Gin take?

The Gin uses a single GU10 bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-7W LED GU10 in warm white (2700K-3000K) for kitchen or office task lighting. The open-bottom design suits narrow-beam GU10s (38° or less) for directed downlight.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Both the bulb and dimmer must support dimming. Not all GU10 LEDs are dimmable, so check the bulb specification before purchase.

How is the drop length adjusted?

The fabric cable is typically adjusted during installation by shortening the cable run inside the ceiling canopy. Once installed, the drop is fixed unless the pendant is removed and re-fitted. The specification allows drops from 215mm (very short, for low ceilings) to 1500mm (for high ceilings or vaulted spaces).

Can multiple Gin pendants be hung in a row?

Yes. The compact 22cm diameter and 1.2kg weight make the Gin suitable for installing in groups of two or three across a kitchen island or dining counter, typically spaced 60-80cm apart on centre. Each pendant requires its own ceiling rose and switch circuit unless wired to a shared circuit by an electrician.
