Description
The Gildara is a 450mm-tall table lamp built from a cylindrical yellow travertine stone column, a brushed bronze sphere joint, and a domed soft white glass shade measuring 300mm in diameter. The stone column shows the open pores, honey-toned banding and pale mineral veining typical of natural travertine, and the domed shade sits over a single E27 bulb fitting (sold separately).
Designed for bedside tables, console tables, sideboards and reading nooks, the lamp works at ambient and low task light levels rather than as a primary room light. The soft white glass dome diffuses the bulb evenly across the full hemisphere, throwing a warm glow downward onto the stone column and outward into the surrounding space. The 300mm shade diameter and 450mm height suit surfaces of 400mm depth or greater.
The travertine stone column is cut from a single block, so the open pores and tonal banding differ between individual pieces — no two Gildara lamps look the same when lit. The brushed bronze sphere where the column meets the shade gives the lamp a defined sculptural break, contrasting the matt stone texture against the polished metal and the smooth glass dome above. The whole composition references mid-century Italian table lamp design while sitting comfortably in modern, neutral and earth-toned interiors.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The lamp takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-9W and 2700K-3000K pairs naturally with the soft white glass shade and the honey tones of the travertine.
Does the stone vary between pieces?
Yes. Each column is cut from natural travertine, so the open pores, banding and tonal variation differ between individual lamps. This is a feature of the natural material rather than a defect, and means each piece has its own surface character.
Where is it best placed?
The Gildara works on bedside tables, console tables, sideboards and reading nooks. The 300mm shade and 450mm height suit surfaces of 400mm depth or greater, and the diffused dome makes it suitable as bedside ambient light or evening reading light next to seating.
How is the travertine cleaned?
Travertine is porous and softer than granite. Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth to remove dust. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, which can sit in the open pores and discolour the stone.
