Gildara Alabaster Dome Table Lamp - Brushed Bronze & Soft White

The Gildara is a 450mm alabaster table lamp built around a cylindrical column of natural Spanish alabaster, topped with a brushed bronze sphere and a 300mm soft white dome shade. The shade sits on a slim bronze rim and houses a single E27 bulb, casting downward light over the work surface and a softer wash through the alabaster column itself when lit.

Designed for bedside tables, hallway consoles, sideboards and side tables next to a sofa, the Gildara works as ambient and low-level reading light rather than a primary task source. The 300mm shade diameter and 450mm overall height give it a substantial visual weight without dominating a typical 400-500mm-deep console or bedside surface. The E27 socket accepts standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs (sold separately), letting you choose a warm 2700K bulb for bedrooms or a brighter 3000K for living areas.

Each alabaster column is cut from a single block of natural Spanish alabaster, so the grey and charcoal veining patterns differ between individual pieces. When the lamp is switched off the stone reads as a soft cream cylinder; once lit, the alabaster reveals its mineral structure as light passes through the column and brings the veining forward. The brushed bronze sphere between the column and shade adds a warm metallic break that softens the transition between stone and painted dome.

What bulb does it take and is one included?

The Gildara takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. For bedside or living room ambient use, most buyers pair it with a 6-9W warm-white LED in 2700K or 3000K. The shade comfortably accommodates standard A60 globe shapes.

Is it dimmable?

The lamp itself has no built-in dimmer and is wired for standard mains. Dimmability depends on the bulb fitted and the dimmer switch in the circuit, so pair a dimmable LED with a compatible LED dimmer if you want variable light levels.

Does the alabaster veining vary between pieces?

Yes. Each column is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the grey and charcoal veining, opacity and tonal patterns differ between individual lamps. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect, and means no two Gildara lamps look identical when lit.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble, so wipe the column with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For tougher marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and never use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners on it.
