Description

The Gerhard is a 40cm diameter dome pendant light with a grey metal shade and integrated 26W LED emitting 3000K warm white light. The dome houses a white acrylic diffuser beneath the metal canopy, spreading light evenly downward to reduce glare and create soft ambient illumination over tables, kitchen islands and worktops.

Designed for kitchens, dining rooms and open-plan living spaces with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 4.5m, the Gerhard offers an adjustable wire drop from 57cm to 347cm maximum, allowing the pendant to be set at the appropriate height for the room. The 40cm dome width suits spaces of 3-4.5m width — large enough to provide effective ambient light without overwhelming smaller dining tables or kitchen islands under 2m in length.

The metal shade is finished in a flat grey powder coat with a shagreen-textured surface that resists fingerprints and visible dust accumulation compared to smooth painted finishes. The grey tone sits comfortably in contemporary interiors alongside both warm neutrals and cooler greys, and the minimal cylindrical canopy and visible suspension wire contribute to a clean, functional aesthetic. The integrated LED is rated for 26W on 220-240V mains supply and carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor use only.

Frequently Asked

Is the Gerhard dimmable?

The integrated LED operates on 220-240V mains supply. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model — consult Maytoni or contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable drop ranges from 57cm to 347cm. For a dining table or kitchen island, the pendant typically sits 70-90cm above the surface, requiring a ceiling height of at least 2.4m. The maximum 347cm drop suits double-height spaces or vaulted ceilings up to approximately 4.5m.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Gerhard is rated for dry indoor locations only and is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor covered areas where moisture is present.

How is the grey finish maintained?

The shagreen-textured powder coat resists fingerprints and visible dust. Wipe with a dry microfibre cloth for routine cleaning. For stubborn marks, use a barely-damp cloth with water only — avoid household sprays or abrasive cleaners that may damage the finish.
