Georgina 5 Light Crystal Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome

The Georgina is a 370mm flush crystal ceiling light built around five G9 bulb holders mounted inside a polished chrome frame, surrounded by concentric rings of Asfour crystal prisms. A double ring of square-cut crystal pieces encircles the chrome base, with rectangular and circular crystal drops suspended below on fine metal links, forming overlapping layers that refract light through multiple planes when the bulbs are lit.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.1m to 2.6m where a pendant drop would intrude into headroom, the Georgina provides decorative ceiling lighting without projection below the ceiling plane. The 220mm height from ceiling to base fits flush against the plaster or plasterboard surface, making it suitable for hallways, bedrooms, low-ceiling living rooms and period properties where ceiling roses are shallow. The five G9 fittings each take up to 33W halogen or LED capsule bulbs (sold separately), giving a combined maximum of 165W.

Each crystal element is Asfour lead-free crystal, precision-cut to refract light into spectrum colours when hit by the bulb filament or LED. The square, rectangular and circular cuts create different refraction angles, so the light pattern varies depending on viewing position. The polished chrome frame provides a cool metallic accent that pairs with both contemporary monochrome interiors and traditional schemes where chrome hardware is present. The 2.5kg weight requires secure fixing into a ceiling joist or using appropriate cavity fixings rated for the load.

The fitting is dimmable when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch, allowing the brightness to be adjusted for evening ambient lighting or full task light during the day. The crystal arrangement is dense enough to obscure the bulbs from most viewing angles, reducing glare while maintaining high light output through the prisms.

What bulbs does the Georgina take?

The fitting takes five G9 capsule bulbs, each up to 33W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with G9 LED bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K warm white for ambient ceiling lighting. G9 halogens are also compatible but run hotter and use more power.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The Georgina is a flush fitting that sits against the ceiling surface with a 220mm projection downwards, making it suitable for ceiling heights from 2.1m upwards. Rooms with 2.4m ceilings or lower benefit most from flush fittings rather than pendant drops.

Can the Georgina be dimmed?

Yes, when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. The dimmer type depends on whether you use LED or halogen bulbs — LED bulbs require an LED-compatible trailing-edge dimmer for smooth dimming without flicker.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off at the mains and allow bulbs to cool completely. Wipe each crystal piece with a dry microfibre cloth. For heavier dust build-up, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal links or getting water inside the bulb holders. Do not use chemical sprays or polishes on the crystal.
