Description

The Galaxia is a 6-light cluster pendant built around square cement shades in three matte finishes: two in grey, two in off-white, and two in muted terracotta. Each 50mm cube hangs on an adjustable cable from a 440mm-diameter white metal canopy, with the six drops arranged asymmetrically to form a loose, organic cluster rather than a rigid geometric pattern. Each shade houses an E27 bulb fitting, and the bulbs are sold separately.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and double-height entrance halls where a grouped light source works better than a single pendant, the Galaxia sits at the midpoint between sculptural and functional. The adjustable cables allow the cluster to be compressed into a tight 210mm vertical drop for lower ceilings or extended up to 3.2m for vaulted spaces or stairwells. The 440mm canopy spread means the fitting works over tables from 1.2m to 1.8m wide without overwhelming narrower surfaces.

The cement shades are cast rather than machined, so each one carries slight tonal variation, small air pockets and minor texture differences that come from the mould-release process. The matte surface absorbs rather than reflects light, so the fitting produces soft ambient glow rather than bright task lighting. The grey and terracotta tones pair well with mid-century, industrial and Scandinavian-influenced interiors, while the off-white shades lighten the overall palette enough to suit contemporary neutral schemes. At 6.4kg the fitting needs secure ceiling fixings — a standard ceiling rose with hollow-wall anchors will not support this weight safely.

The cables are adjustable during installation, allowing each drop to be set independently between 210mm and 3210mm. Once the cables are trimmed and the canopy is fixed to the ceiling, further adjustment requires partial disassembly.

What ceiling fixings are needed?

At 6.4kg the Galaxia requires secure ceiling fixings into a joist or solid concrete. A standard hollow-wall ceiling rose with plasterboard anchors will not safely support this weight. If the ceiling is plasterboard-only, a spreader plate fixed into multiple joists is recommended.
