Description

This is a small, switched table lamp finished in satin black, with a low sheen that reads as soft charcoal rather than gloss. A toggle switch sits on the lamp itself, so it is worked by hand where it stands rather than from the socket across the room. It takes a single G9 capsule, and we would fit an LED capsule here for the low running heat and the long life. Dimming is possible if you pair a dimmable capsule with a compatible dimmer, neither of which comes with the lamp.

It is a lamp we reach for where space is tight: a bedside table already crowded with a book and a glass, a narrow console in a hallway, a shelf in a study, or a windowsill in a sitting room that wants a little light after dark. The compact scale means it lights a corner without dominating it, and a pair either side of a bed or a sofa balances nicely. Being switched at the fitting, it suits spots where the nearest power point is behind furniture. Keep it to dry rooms indoors; a bathroom shelf or a covered porch is not the place for it.
