Frances 14 Light Crystal Chandelier - Antique Brass

The Frances is a 550mm crystal chandelier with fourteen E14 bulb positions arranged within an antique brass frame, layered with cut crystal panels in the upper cone and cascading bead strands that terminate in a lower tier of faceted crystal spheres. The antique brass finish shows deliberate patina and tonal variation across the metal frame, providing a warmer, aged contrast to the clear crystal.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and stairwells with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Frances suits rooms where the chandelier can be appreciated from multiple angles and distances. The adjustable drop ranges from 900mm to 2400mm, allowing the fitting to be set high in a double-height space or lowered over a dining table. At 19.8kg, the chandelier requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or ceiling plate rated for the weight.

The crystal components are arranged in three distinct zones: the upper cone of flat panels that diffuse direct glare from the bulbs, a mid-section of vertical bead strands that scatter light sideways, and a lower hemisphere of spherical crystals that catch and refract light in multiple directions. This layered approach creates depth and movement as the viewer's position changes. The fourteen E14 bulbs (sold separately) can be fitted with dimmable LEDs or candle-style filament bulbs to control brightness and aesthetic.

What bulbs does the Frances take?

The chandelier takes fourteen E14 small Edison screw bulbs, up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit 4-6W LED candle bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient dining room lighting, or decorative filament candles where the bulb itself is visible through the crystal.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when fitted with dimmable bulbs. The chandelier itself does not contain dimming circuitry, so compatibility depends on pairing dimmable E14 LEDs with a suitable dimmer switch on the wall circuit.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 900mm minimum drop suits ceilings of 2.7m or higher. For installation over a dining table, the chandelier typically hangs 750-850mm above the table surface, which works in rooms with ceilings of 2.6m upwards if the chain is set to minimum drop. Taller spaces can extend the drop to 2400mm.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off at the mains and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe each crystal component with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For more thorough cleaning, individual crystal pieces can be removed, washed in warm water with a drop of washing-up liquid, rinsed, dried and rehung. Avoid spraying cleaners directly onto the fitting as moisture can collect in the brass frame.
