The Fragment is a 1.7m floor lamp built around a central column of carved metal elements in an aged gold finish, topped with a cylindrical alabaster drum shade. The column assembles five sculptural pieces separated by brass-toned spheres on a continuous rod, with each carved element showing different ornamentation and texture. The square base rests on four ball feet, giving clearance for rug edges and uneven floors.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and entrance halls where ambient rather than directional light is needed, the Fragment works in corners or beside armchairs as a reading light. The 381mm square footprint keeps the base compact enough for side-of-sofa placement, while the 1.7m height puts the shade at eye level when seated. The alabaster diffuses light through the entire drum rather than emitting a focused beam, creating general room illumination that works as supplementary lighting alongside ceiling fittings.

The aged gold finish on the metal column is hand-applied, so tonal variation and deliberate distressing differ between individual lamps. The finish is designed to look oxidised and worn rather than uniformly metallic, with darker recesses in the carved details and lighter raised surfaces. The alabaster shade shows natural veining and translucency variation depending on the section of stone used.
