Fragma 1 Light Semi-Flush Ceiling Light - Black Chrome

The Fragma is a 100mm diameter semi-flush ceiling light with a single curved black chrome arm extending from a circular ceiling plate to support a clear glass sphere with frosted internal detailing. The arm sweeps in a sculptural arc before holding the glass at its terminus, giving the fitting decorative presence despite its compact 110mm overall height. The sphere takes a single G9 bulb (sold separately).

Designed for hallways, small bedrooms, cloakrooms and low-ceiling spaces where a pendant would sit too low, the Fragma's semi-flush mounting keeps the glass close to the ceiling without appearing flattened or utilitarian. The black chrome finish contrasts with the frosted-clear glass, accentuating the curve of the arm and giving the fitting definition against white or light-coloured ceilings. The 100mm footprint works in narrow circulation spaces or as accent lighting over alcoves and niches.

The frosted internal detailing inside the clear glass sphere diffuses the G9 bulb while leaving the outer surface transparent, so the sphere appears luminous when lit but retains visual clarity when unlit. The black chrome plating provides a darker, cooler metallic tone than polished chrome or brushed nickel, pairing comfortably with contemporary and transitional interiors that lean towards greys, blacks and cool whites. At 0.54kg the fitting is light enough for plasterboard ceilings with standard fixings.

Is this suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 110mm projection from ceiling to base of the glass sphere makes the Fragma well-suited to rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or lower where pendant lights would hang too far into the room. The semi-flush format keeps the fitting close to the ceiling without appearing flat or utilitarian.

What bulb does it take?

The Fragma takes a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. Most users pair it with a 3-5W LED G9 bulb in 2700K-3000K for ambient hallway or bedroom lighting. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a dimmable G9 bulb and compatible dimmer switch.

How is the glass cleaned?

The clear outer surface of the glass sphere can be wiped with a soft microfibre cloth and glass cleaner. The frosted internal detailing is sealed inside the glass and does not require cleaning. Switch off the fitting and allow the bulb to cool before handling the glass.
