Description

The Focus S Long is a surface-mounted spotlight built around a 192mm brass cylinder base with a 52mm diameter adjustable head at the lower end. The spotlight takes a single GU10 bulb up to 10W (sold separately) and the head rotates 350° on the horizontal plane and tilts 90° vertically, allowing light to be directed at artwork, architectural detail, retail displays or walls.

Designed for ceiling installation in residential, hospitality and commercial interiors where accent lighting is needed without recessing into the ceiling structure, the Focus S mounts directly to a standard ceiling rose or patress box. The extended brass cylinder gives the spotlight a 192mm projection from the ceiling, making it visible as a design element rather than a discreet fitting. This works well in rooms with higher ceilings (2.7m or above) where the cylinder proportions suit the vertical scale.

The brass finish is brushed rather than polished, giving a satin sheen that softens reflections under daylight and pairs comfortably with warm metallics, walnut timber and mid-century or contemporary industrial schemes. The metal construction and IP20 rating limit the fitting to dry indoor areas — bathrooms, kitchens with steam exposure and outdoor installations are not suitable. The GU10 base accepts LED, halogen or CFL bulbs, giving control over beam angle, colour temperature and brightness to suit the specific accent task.

The spotlight takes a single GU10 bulb up to 10W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a GU10 LED in the 4-7W range with a narrow beam angle (25-40°) for accent work, or a wider flood beam (60-120°) for wall washing.

How much adjustment does the head have?

The spotlight head rotates 350° horizontally around the brass cylinder and tilts 90° vertically from straight-down to nearly horizontal. This allows light to be directed at walls, artwork, or architectural features from a single ceiling-mounted position.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor areas with no direct water contact or steam exposure. Bathrooms require IP44 or higher for zones around baths and showers.

What ceiling height does it suit?
