Description

The Focus is a 168mm round recessed LED downlight from Ideal Lux, housing an integrated 20W 4000K LED behind a white aluminium trim. The 4000K colour temperature produces neutral white light suited to task-focused environments where colour rendering and visibility matter more than ambient warmth — commercial kitchens, offices, retail fitting rooms, workshops and healthcare settings.

Designed for ceiling recess installation, the downlight sits flush with the ceiling plane once fitted, leaving only the white trim and central lens visible from below. The fixed-position design provides general downward illumination across a room rather than directed task lighting. The 168mm diameter cutout required for installation is larger than standard GU10 downlights but smaller than most 300mm panel lights, making the Focus suitable for plasterboard ceilings with joist spacing of 400-600mm.

The aluminium body dissipates heat generated by the 20W LED, contributing to the 5-year warranty coverage. The IP20 rating limits installation to dry indoor environments — not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor soffits or covered external areas where moisture ingress could occur. The integrated LED cannot be replaced separately; when the LED reaches end-of-life the complete fitting is replaced.
