Description

The Maytoni Focus is a single recessed spotlight with an integrated 12W 3000K LED housed inside a cylindrical matt black aluminium body. The spotlight sits 158mm deep into the ceiling void and presents a 52mm diameter trim ring flush with the ceiling surface. The LED module sits at the base of a 120mm-long recessed cylinder, giving a wide scattering angle that distributes warm white light across a room rather than creating a narrow accent beam.

Designed for residential and commercial spaces with accessible ceiling voids of 200mm or more, the Focus suits living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and offices where recessed ambient lighting is preferred over surface-mounted or pendant fittings. The matt black finish minimises visual interruption on white or light-coloured ceilings whilst the recessed cylinder depth prevents direct glare from the LED source. The wide beam angle makes this more suited to general room illumination than targeted accent work.

The aluminium construction keeps the fitting lightweight at installation whilst providing adequate heat dissipation for the 12W LED. The IP20 rating limits installation to dry indoor environments — this is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor soffits. The 3000K colour temperature delivers a warm white tone that sits between the warmer 2700K of traditional tungsten and the cooler 4000K of office-grade LED, making it compatible with both warm and neutral interior palettes. The fitting extends 158mm above the ceiling surface into the void. A minimum 200mm void depth is recommended to allow clearance for the fitting body and any insulation or wiring runs above.

Is this dimmable?

The integrated 12W LED is not listed as dimmable in the specification. Installing this on a dimmer circuit may cause flickering or damage to the LED driver. Use on a standard switched circuit only unless confirmed compatible with a specific dimmer model.
