Description

The Focus is a 2-light up-down wall light built from two cylindrical aluminium diffusers mounted vertically on a matt gold backplate, each housing a single GU10 bulb. The diffusers carry a textured geometric pattern pressed into the metal surface, and light escapes from top and bottom openings to create upward and downward wash across the wall behind the fitting.

Designed for hallways, stairwells, living room accent walls and hotel corridors, the Focus provides wall-washing effect rather than direct task light. The 21.7cm height and 10.6cm projection from the wall suit spaces where a vertical accent is needed without blocking passage or sightlines. The IP20 rating restricts installation to interior dry locations — bathrooms, outdoor areas and damp environments require a higher IP-rated fixture.

The matt gold finish on the aluminium body is powder-coated rather than plated, giving a consistent warm tone across the backplate and both cylindrical diffusers. The textured geometric pattern pressed into the diffusers creates shadow detail when the fitting is lit, adding visual depth to what would otherwise be plain cylinders. The fitting accepts any standard GU10 LED bulbs up to 7W per socket (sold separately), allowing control over colour temperature and beam angle to suit the installation context.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does the Focus take?

The fitting takes two GU10 bulbs up to 7W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use warm-white LED GU10s at 2700K-3000K to complement the matt gold finish.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is only suitable for interior dry locations. Bathrooms require IP44 or higher, depending on zone placement.

How is the fitting wired?

The Focus is surface-mounted to a standard UK backbox with mains connection behind the backplate. Both GU10 sockets run from the same feed, so both bulbs light together when switched on. The Product Manual linked above includes wiring diagrams.

What other finishes are available in the Focus range?

Maytoni produces the Focus design in multiple finishes. Use the search function or filters at Niori to find other variants currently in stock.
