Description

The Florence is a 1.67m floor lamp built around a rectangular crystal frame suspended on a polished chrome stem between a rectangular chrome base and a black pleated fabric shade. A single E27 bulb inside the shade lights both the fabric and the crystal frame below, creating two zones of light — diffused warm glow from the shade and refracted sparkle from the crystal rectangle.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and lounge areas where ambient and decorative lighting overlap, the Florence sits beside sofas, armchairs or in room corners where its height and crystal detail read clearly. The 210mm x 400mm footprint occupies less floor space than traditional tripod lamps while the 1.67m height positions the shade well above seated eye-level. The lamp uses a standard UK 3-pin plug and requires no hardwiring.

The crystal frame is assembled from individual faceted pieces held in a chrome surround, forming a hollow rectangle that catches and throws light when the bulb is on. The black fabric shade is pleated rather than smooth, adding vertical texture that breaks up reflections. The polished chrome stem and base provide structural contrast to the soft shade and transparent crystal, giving the lamp a mix of hard and soft finishes that suits both contemporary and traditional interiors.

The lamp accepts any E27 bulb up to 100W (sold separately) and is dimmable when paired with a dimmable bulb and compatible plug-in dimmer or smart bulb. The Florence uses a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 100W, sold separately. For best effect, pair it with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 6-10W and 2700K to show the crystal detail without harsh glare.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer. You can use a plug-in trailing-edge dimmer on the mains cable or a smart bulb with app-based dimming. The lamp itself does not include dimming hardware.

How much floor space does it need?

The base footprint is 210mm x 400mm (roughly 21cm x 40cm), smaller than most tripod floor lamps. It sits comfortably beside a sofa arm or in a room corner without encroaching into walkways.

Can the crystal frame be cleaned?

Yes. Switch off and unplug the lamp, then wipe the crystal pieces with a dry microfibre cloth. For fingerprints or dust buildup, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works, but avoid soaking the metal frame or getting moisture inside the shade.
