The Flirenne is a floor lamp with a slim black steel stem that rises from a round black base and curves at the top, where a wide wooden shade sits over the bulb. The shade is a warm brown with a woven pattern and a gently wavy edge, so it looks more like a sun hat than a lampshade. It stands 159.5cm high, 55.5cm long and 34.5cm wide, on a base 23cm in diameter. It takes an E27 bulb up to a maximum of 40W, which is not included, and it is rated IP20, so it is a lamp for dry rooms indoors.

Because the stem curves out at the top, the base can stand beside a sofa or armchair while the shade reaches over the seat. That makes it a good reading lamp for a living room, a bedroom corner or a quiet nook by a window, with the light falling downward onto your book or a side table. It suits homes with natural textures such as rattan, linen and oak, and the black steel keeps the outline crisp against pale walls.
