The Flenane is a dome-shaped ceiling light in a warm mocha finish, made from steel and fixed close to the ceiling on a neat round ceiling plate. It is 40cm in diameter and 17.5cm tall, so it gives a broad, rounded shade without hanging low into the room. The inside of the shade is a paler tone than the outside, and a single E27 bulb sits beneath it, taking up to 60W. With an IP20 rating it is made for dry rooms indoors, which settles where it goes: a bedroom, a hallway or a living room, never a bathroom or the garden.

Because it sits flush, this mocha ceiling light suits rooms where a pendant would hang too low, and it keeps the ceiling feeling open. The earthy colour sits comfortably with warm neutrals, natural wood and cream paintwork, and it gives a plain ceiling a soft, rounded shape without taking over the room. At 40cm across it brings a clear focal point to a medium-sized room, and the darker outside keeps the look grounded while the paler inside catches the light whenever the bulb is lit.

The body is steel, a material that is strong and holds its shape well, with a mocha outer face and a paler inner face. There is no switch on the fitting itself, because it is switched at the wall.
