Description
This resin photo frame sets a panel of rough black texture, with the look of an old flagstone, beside a spray of raised green fern leaves. The fronds climb the right-hand side and wrap along the top and bottom of the opening, each leaf moulded with its own central vein and picked out with lighter green on the edges. On the left, the black panel is cut with an angled corner, giving the frame its asymmetric outline. It takes one 6 x 4in photograph in portrait behind a glazed front, and the whole frame measures 21cm high, 18cm wide and 2.5cm deep.
Because it is freestanding, it needs no wall: the easel back lets it stand on a desk, a bookshelf, a mantelpiece or a bedside table. The deep green and black sit comfortably with houseplants, natural wood and botanical prints, so it settles easily into a study, a hallway or a living room with an earthy or green scheme. As 6 x 4in is a standard print size, a holiday snap, a garden in full bloom or a family portrait slips straight in without trimming. It makes a thoughtful gift, and it is as happy on your own shelf.
The frame is moulded in resin, with the leaves raised in relief so they catch the light. On the back, a beige backing board is held by three turn clips, and a hinged easel folds out to hold the frame upright in portrait. To change the picture, turn the clips, ease out the board, set your photograph in place and close it again. Dust with a soft dry cloth, using a soft brush to reach between the leaves, and keep it away from water. Stand it beside a trailing plant or a pile of nature books, or wrap it with a favourite outdoor photograph already inside for a gift that goes straight on the shelf.
