Description

This is a compact spot for single circuit track, with the LED built into the head so there is no lamp to buy or replace. Light output is warm white at 3000K, from a 15W board, and the driver sits inside the fitting rather than somewhere along the track. The body is black from the cylindrical head down to the adaptor, and the head is small enough to keep a run of track looking quiet. We reach for it when a customer wants directional light on a single circuit and has no need for the extra switching of a multi-circuit system.

Track earns its place where light needs aiming rather than fixing: kitchen worktops, a wall of shelving, a hallway hung with pictures, a home office that gets rearranged. Several heads on one length let you cover a long room without a row of pendants. This one is not dimmable, so we would put the track on an ordinary switch and let the warm tone do the softening. It runs on household mains and is meant for dry rooms under cover, well away from bathrooms and porches.

The finish is an even black across head and adaptor, which helps the spot read as part of the track instead of an addition to it. The housing is double insulated, and the LED and driver come as one assembly, so nothing needs handling beyond an occasional dust. Do that with a dry cloth once the power is off and the head is cold, and keep sprays and solvents away from the lens. It carries a five year warranty. The range goes wider than this head: we also stock white, a cooler white light, and versions made for three circuit track, so one scheme can run in a single family of fittings.
