Description

A spotlight head for three circuit track, finished in black and carrying its own LED engine and driver inside the housing. The light it gives is warm white, near the tone of a good halogen, and the beam is narrow rather than broad, so it puts down a defined pool instead of washing a whole room evenly. Output is generous for a head of this size, and at 40W it behaves like a working light rather than a decorative one. It is not dimmable, so it comes on at full strength each time the circuit is live.

This is the head we reach for when a room has height to it and the light has to travel: open kitchens with a tall ceiling, a stairwell landing, a shop floor, a studio or a home office where the desk needs proper brightness on it. The tight beam also makes it useful for aiming at particular things rather than at the floor generally, so it earns its place over an island, a run of worktop, a bar counter, artwork or a set of shelves. Because it is a track head, several can share one run and each be turned to a different target. It is intended for dry rooms indoors.

The front measures 85mm across, which keeps it looking quiet on a length of track alongside its neighbours. When it needs cleaning, switch the circuit off, give the head time to lose its heat, then wipe the housing with a dry cloth and pass gently over the lens, as dust sitting on the glass quietly costs you light. It carries a five year warranty. We stock this head in white as well as black, and in lower outputs where a smaller room would find this one too strong. There is no lamp to change, since the LED and driver are part of the fitting.
