Description

The Felix is a 76cm LED picture light with an integrated 8W LED running at 3000K, housed in a tubular silver frame that mounts above artwork, mirrors or photography. The fitting projects 180mm from the wall on two curved arms that extend from a rectangular backplate, positioning the LED bar to cast light downward across the surface below.

Designed for larger artworks and mirrors from 60-90cm wide, the Felix distributes light evenly across the width of the piece without creating hotspots or dark corners. The 8W LED output at 3000K gives warm white light that renders colours naturally on canvas, prints and photographic paper. The fixture suits living rooms, hallways, dining rooms and gallery spaces where wall-hung pieces need dedicated illumination separate from ceiling lighting.

The silver finish on the tubular frame and backplate provides a neutral metallic accent that pairs with both warm and cool interior tones. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations only. The integrated LED is non-replaceable but carries a 5-year warranty, and the fitting is non-dimmable as supplied. Installation requires fixing the backplate to the wall above the artwork and connecting to mains power through a nearby switch or fused spur.

The 76cm width works best with artwork or mirrors between 60-90cm wide. For pieces below 60cm the light bar extends beyond the edges; for pieces above 90cm the light may not reach the full width evenly.

Can the LED be replaced when it fails?

No, the LED is integrated into the fitting and non-replaceable. The LED is covered by a 5-year warranty and is rated for approximately 20,000 hours of use, which equates to over 10 years at 5 hours daily use.

Is the Felix dimmable?

Not as supplied. The integrated LED runs at fixed output and is not compatible with standard dimmer switches. If dimming is required, an external smart switch or plug could be used to control it, though this is not officially supported by Ideal Lux.

How is it powered?

The fitting connects to mains power and requires wiring to a nearby switch, fused connection unit or ceiling rose. It does not have a plug or inline switch, so control needs to be built into the installation circuit.
