Description

The Fay is a 370mm crystal wall light built around radiating spikes of faceted crystal that emerge from a dual-tone aged gold and silver backplate. Each crystal spike is held on a slender brass rod, creating a fan of approximately 30 individual elements that catch and scatter light across the wall surface. A single E14 bulb (sold separately) sits at the base of the arrangement, backlighting the crystals from within the frame.

Designed for feature walls in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and dining rooms, the Fay provides decorative accent lighting rather than primary illumination. The 180mm projection from the wall positions the crystal fan clear of the surface, allowing light to reflect back and create a halo effect behind the fitting. The sconce works in pairs flanking a fireplace or mirror, or as a solo statement on a narrow wall section between doorways.

The aged gold and silver finish combines warm and cool metallic tones on the same frame, with the gold concentrated on the central housing and the silver on the outer rods. This dual finish sits comfortably in interiors mixing warm brass accents with cooler chrome or nickel, and bridges traditional and contemporary schemes. The crystal spikes are facet-cut rather than smooth, so each element fractures light into multiple directions rather than acting as a simple reflector. At 1.4kg the fitting carries enough weight to feel substantial without requiring reinforced plasterboard.

What bulb does the Fay take?

The fitting takes a single E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 60W maximum. Most users pair this with a 4-6W LED candle or golf ball bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) to backlight the crystals without overpowering the room. Bulbs are sold separately.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable E14 LED bulb and a compatible LED dimmer switch. The fitting itself is compatible with dimming, but the bulb must also be rated as dimmable for the system to work correctly.

How far does it project from the wall?

180mm from the wall surface to the outermost crystal tips. This projection allows the light to reflect back onto the wall and create a halo effect behind the fitting, but requires clearance if positioned next to doorways or in narrow hallways.

Can it be installed in a bathroom?

The Fay carries no IP rating and is designed for dry interior use only. It should not be installed in bathrooms, wet rooms, or other areas where moisture or steam are present.
