Description

The Exility T-connector is a recessed track lighting junction piece designed to create 90° T-shaped intersections in Maytoni Exility track lighting systems installed into 12.5mm plasterboard ceilings. The connector is constructed from aluminium with a white powder-coated finish and measures 174mm along the main axis, 100mm across the perpendicular arm, and 46mm in height including the recessed mounting depth.

Designed for residential and commercial track lighting installations where directional light needs to run in perpendicular directions from a single junction point, the T-connector maintains electrical continuity across all three track arms while sitting flush with the plasterboard surface. The connector is typically used in retail spaces, galleries, offices and open-plan residential rooms where track lighting needs to follow architectural features like beams, alcoves or room corners.

The aluminium construction provides structural rigidity at the junction point where three track sections meet under tension, while the white finish matches standard Exility track profiles and blends into white or light-toned plasterboard ceilings. Is this compatible with other track lighting brands?

No. The Exility T-connector is designed specifically for Maytoni Exility recessed track systems. It will not connect to surface-mounted tracks or other manufacturers' recessed track profiles due to differences in mounting depth, electrical contact design and physical dimensions.

What plasterboard thickness is required?

The connector is designed for 12.5mm plasterboard, which is the standard UK residential ceiling board thickness. Thicker or thinner boards may require adaptor brackets or may not provide sufficient support for the recessed mounting system.

Does this connector carry mains power to all three arms?

Yes. The T-connector distributes mains power from the incoming track section to both perpendicular output sections, allowing track heads on all three connected tracks to draw power from a single circuit feed point.

Can this be painted after installation?

The white powder-coated aluminium finish can be painted to match ceiling colours, but ensure any paint used is compatible with metal surfaces and does not interfere with the electrical contact points inside the track channel.
