Description

The Exility is a 100W recessed track power supply delivering 48V DC output for low-voltage track lighting systems, housed in a white aluminium and plastic body measuring 300mm long by 23mm wide by 44mm high. The unit converts 180-240V AC mains voltage to regulated 48V DC, allowing multiple track heads and spotlights to run from a single central supply without individual transformers at each fitting.

Designed for recessed installation above ceiling level or within ceiling voids, the Exility integrates with Maytoni's 48V track system and compatible third-party track components using the same voltage standard. The 100W output capacity supports up to ten 10W LED track heads or five 20W spots on a single run, depending on the total load. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashing, making the supply suitable for kitchen installations and IP-rated bathroom zones where track lighting is permitted.

The white powder-coated aluminium body dissipates heat efficiently during continuous operation and the plastic end caps house the cable entry points and fixing brackets. Installation requires access to the ceiling void for secure mounting and connection to mains wiring via a fused spur or switched supply. The 300mm length fits between standard UK joist centres and the low 44mm profile sits within typical ceiling depths without requiring void enlargement.

Frequently Asked

What track systems is this compatible with?

The Exility power supply works with Maytoni's 48V DC track system and other manufacturers' 48V track components. It is not compatible with mains-voltage 230V track systems or 12V/24V low-voltage systems.

How many track heads can it power?

The 100W capacity supports up to ten 10W LED spots, five 20W spots, or any combination where the total wattage does not exceed 100W. For example, six 15W heads would total 90W, leaving 10W headroom.

Does it need to be accessible after installation?

Yes. Building regulations typically require power supplies to remain accessible for maintenance and replacement. Recessed installation is permitted as long as access panels or removable ceiling tiles allow the unit to be reached without major dismantling.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP54 rating provides protection against splashing water, making it suitable for installation in bathroom ceiling voids outside the direct shower zone. Consult a qualified electrician to confirm compliance with UK bathroom electrical zones before installation.
