Description

The Exility recessed track internal corner connector is a black aluminium L-shaped joining piece designed to form 90-degree internal corners in plasterboard track lighting installations. Built for 12.5mm plasterboard thickness, the connector sits flush within the ceiling plane and maintains electrical continuity between two perpendicular track sections without visible surface-mounted hardware.

Used in residential extensions, retail fit-outs and gallery installations where recessed track lighting routes around internal corners, the connector allows track runs to follow room perimeters or turn into alcoves whilst keeping the track profile concealed within the plasterboard. The black finish matches Maytoni's black Exility track range and provides a low-contrast edge when viewed from below. Installation requires cutting a corner aperture in the plasterboard before the connector is fitted and locked into position from below.

The aluminium body measures 100mm along each arm of the L-shape with a 46mm installation depth, fitting standard ceiling voids of 50mm or deeper. The IP20 rating limits use to dry internal spaces — bathrooms and wet areas require a higher-rated track system. The connector forms part of Maytoni's modular Exility recessed track family, which includes straight lengths, end caps, power feeds and spotlight fittings all designed to work together within the same installation.

This connector is designed specifically for 12.5mm plasterboard, the standard residential and light commercial ceiling board thickness in the UK. It will not fit correctly with 9.5mm or 15mm boards.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

The connector requires a minimum 50mm ceiling void to accommodate its 46mm installation depth. Most suspended ceilings and timber joist constructions provide adequate clearance.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the connector is suitable only for dry internal spaces. Bathrooms, wet rooms and outdoor covered areas require a higher IP-rated track system.

Is this compatible with surface-mounted Exility track?
