Description

The Exility is a 2m white magnetic suspension cable for adjustable-height track lighting systems, consisting of a ceiling-mounted magnetic anchor point, a steel cable run, and a track attachment fitting. The magnetic ceiling mount fixes to a standard UK ceiling rose or track ceiling anchor, while the cable passes through the mount and connects to the track rail below, allowing the track to be suspended at any height between 200mm and 2000mm from the ceiling.

Designed for spaces with ceiling heights of 3m or higher where track lighting needs to be lowered closer to the work surface or display area, the suspension cable suits commercial retail, galleries, hospitality dining areas, and residential kitchens or living rooms with vaulted or double-height ceilings. The cable length is adjustable on installation by trimming or coiling excess within the ceiling mount, and multiple suspension cables can be used along a single track run to maintain level positioning across longer spans.

The white powder-coated finish on the ceiling mount and track attachment fitting matches white track rails and white ceiling finishes, allowing the suspension system to blend into the ceiling plane rather than contrast with it. The steel cable itself is exposed between ceiling and track, showing as a fine vertical line approximately 2mm in diameter. The magnetic attachment system means the ceiling mount can be repositioned without needing to re-drill ceiling fixings, though the magnet requires a ferrous metal surface or a compatible magnetic track anchor plate to hold securely.

What type of ceiling is needed for the magnetic mount?

The magnetic ceiling mount requires either a ferrous metal surface or a compatible Maytoni magnetic track anchor plate installed into the ceiling. Standard plasterboard ceilings need the separate anchor plate fixed to a joist or ceiling structure before the magnetic mount will hold.

Can the cable length be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The cable runs through the ceiling mount and can be lengthened or shortened by releasing the cable grip inside the mount, adjusting the track height, and re-tightening. Excess cable coils inside the ceiling mount housing.

How many suspension cables are needed per track?

This depends on track length and load. A typical 1m track with two or three light fittings needs one suspension cable. Tracks longer than 1.5m or carrying heavier spotlight heads benefit from two or more suspension cables spaced evenly along the track to prevent sagging.
