The Ethereal is a 1150mm linear semi-flush ceiling light with five opal glass globes arranged along a matt black metal frame that runs parallel to the ceiling. The frame extends from a circular ceiling canopy at one end, forming an offset L-shape with four globes along the horizontal bar and one additional globe suspended below the canopy. Each globe houses a G9 bulb (sold separately), providing diffused ambient light across the full width of the fitting.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.7m where a full pendant would hang too low, the Ethereal projects just 200mm from the ceiling once fitted. The 1150mm length suits dining tables up to 2m, kitchen islands, hallways and living rooms where a directional spread of light is needed without encroaching into headroom. The semi-flush mount gives more visual presence than a flush fitting while remaining practical for lower ceilings.

The matt black powder-coated frame pairs the five white opal glass spheres with a defined geometric structure that reads as architectural rather than decorative. The offset canopy position allows the horizontal bar to sit off-centre over a table or island, providing flexibility in positioning relative to room proportions. The G9 fittings accept halogen or LED capsule bulbs and are dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer switch (not included).

Manufactured in Italy by Ideal Lux, the Ethereal carries a 5-year warranty and an IP20 rating for general indoor use. The black metal frame is cold to the touch during operation and the opal glass globes can be wiped clean with a soft dry cloth.

What ceiling height does the Ethereal suit?

The 200mm projection from ceiling to bottom of the globes makes the Ethereal suitable for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.7m. In lower rooms the fitting remains clear of normal head height; in higher rooms it provides more visual presence than a completely flush fitting.

What bulbs does it take?

The Ethereal takes five G9 capsule bulbs (sold separately). G9 LED bulbs between 3W and 5W at 2700K-3000K are commonly used for warm ambient light. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer switch.

How is the canopy positioned relative to the bar?

The ceiling canopy sits at one end of the 1150mm horizontal bar, not at the centre. This offset design allows the bar to extend across a table or island without the canopy needing to be centred over the furniture.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The semi-flush design keeps the fitting close to the ceiling while still providing directional light spread. Rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above can accommodate the Ethereal without headroom concerns.
