Description

The Estalacta is a 1570mm floor lamp built around six vertical silver stems of varying heights, each topped with an elongated opal white glass diffuser housing a single GU10 bulb. The stems rise from a 850mm x 150mm brushed silver base, creating a sculptural arrangement reminiscent of stalactite formations inverted to stand upright.

Designed for contemporary living rooms, entrance halls and office reception areas, the Estalacta functions as both ambient lighting and an architectural feature. The six separate GU10 bulbs (sold separately) can be positioned to direct light upwards at the ceiling for wash lighting, or angled slightly to provide diffused ambient fill across a room. The 850mm width needs at least 1m of wall or floor space to avoid the outer stems being too close to furniture. The substantial 13.5kg weight gives the fitting stability on hard floors and short-pile rugs without needing wall fixing.

Each opal white diffuser is made from hand-blown glass with a soft white tone that conceals the bulb while allowing light to pass through evenly. The silver stems are powder-coated aluminium with a low-sheen finish that reads as brushed nickel rather than high-polish chrome. The varying heights of the six stems create visual rhythm, with the tallest stem reaching 1570mm and the shortest sitting at approximately 900mm, giving the composition a natural, organic silhouette when viewed from the side.

The lamp takes six GU10 bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W LED GU10 bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient lighting, though higher wattages up to 50W halogen equivalent are supported if brighter task lighting is needed.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable GU10 bulbs and connect the lamp to a compatible dimmer switch. The lamp itself has no built-in dimmer control. Dimming is controlled at the wall or mains supply.

How stable is the base?

The 850mm x 150mm base and 13.5kg total weight give the lamp stability on hard floors and short-pile rugs. On deep or shag rugs, consider placing the base where it sits level rather than on uneven pile to prevent tipping.

Can the stems be adjusted?

No. The stems are fixed in position and height at manufacture. The tallest stem is 1570mm and the shortest approximately 900mm, with the four middle stems at intermediate heights to create the stalactite-inspired composition.
