Description
The ESP UDTASMBSS is a 92mm square surface mount box in brushed stainless steel, designed to house disabled toilet assistance alarm call points and control modules. The box measures 92mm wide by 92mm high by 48mm deep, providing sufficient internal volume for the UDTAKITSS module range while keeping the wall projection minimal. Pre-drilled mounting holes on the rear panel allow secure fixing to plasterboard, masonry or tiled surfaces.
Designed for accessible WC installations in hospitals, care homes, offices and public buildings, the surface mount box provides an alternative to flush-mounting where cutting into wall structures is impractical or where the wall construction cannot accommodate a recessed back box. The brushed stainless steel finish matches the typical material specification for washroom fittings and resists corrosion in high-humidity environments. The box accepts standard ESP UDTAKITSS alarm modules, which include call point buttons, indicator panels and reset controls for assistance alarm systems.
The 48mm depth allows clearance for module wiring and terminal blocks without forcing cables into tight bends. The brushed finish on the stainless steel hides minor scuffs and fingerprints better than polished metal, maintaining appearance in high-traffic washroom environments. The box weighs 0.2kg net, making it straightforward to fix to hollow partition walls using appropriate cavity fixings where solid substrate is not available.

Frequently Asked
What modules is this box compatible with?
The box is designed for use with ESP UDTAKITSS disabled toilet assistance alarm modules, which include call point buttons, indicator panels and reset controls. The 92mm square aperture accepts the standard UDTAKITSS faceplate dimensions.
Can it be used on tiled walls?
Yes. The rear panel has pre-drilled mounting holes for fixing to tiled surfaces using suitable wall plugs and screws. Drill through the tile at the marked positions, insert plugs into the substrate behind, and secure the box with the appropriate fixings.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
The brushed stainless steel construction resists corrosion and humidity, making it suitable for indoor washroom environments. For outdoor or fully exposed installations, confirm with ESP that the box carries an appropriate IP rating for your application.
What depth of wall space is needed?
The box projects 48mm from the wall surface once installed. Ensure there is sufficient clearance behind any adjacent fixtures (grab rails, toilet roll holders) to allow the module faceplate to sit flush with the box aperture.
