Description

The Erich is a single-light wall fitting with a brushed nickel curved arm supporting a 150mm white blown glass globe. The arm extends 190mm from the wall, with the globe sitting at the end on a nickel cup that conceals the E14 lampholder. The white glass is opal-blown rather than clear, diffusing light evenly in all directions rather than casting a directional beam.

Designed for bedrooms, hallways, landings and living rooms where gentle ambient light is needed without ceiling-mounted fittings, the Erich works as paired fittings flanking a bed or mirror, or as repeating units along a corridor. The 270mm overall height and 150mm projection from wall suits standard ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The nickel finish shows light brushing rather than a high polish, reducing reflections and fingerprints.

The globe is hand-blown white glass with slight variation in thickness between individual pieces, giving each fitting a marginally different diffusion pattern when lit. The metal arm and backplate are finished in a brushed nickel that sits between chrome (cooler) and brass (warmer) on the spectrum, pairing well with grey, white and neutral-toned interiors. The E14 bulb sits inside the globe, so filament-style LED bulbs show through the opal glass and add decorative interest.

The fitting takes a single E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for ambient bedroom or hallway lighting.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means the Erich is suitable only for dry indoor locations. It is not rated for bathrooms or zones where moisture or water spray is present.

Is the globe replaceable if damaged?

Yes. The globe unscrews from the nickel cup at the end of the arm. Replacement globes are available from Maytoni or through Niori — contact us for availability.

What height should it be mounted at?

For bedside use, mount the backplate 1.4-1.6m from the floor so the globe sits at bedside reading height. For hallway or corridor use, mounting at 1.8-2m gives clearance above head height while still providing useful ambient light.
