Description

Our Eos Esther Lampshade Large is built from approximately 4860 soft feathers set against textile and steel, and we have finished it in a gentle Light Blue that keeps the whole piece feeling calm and airy. The feathers fan out into a wide flat disc rather than a globe, layered so densely that any light passing through them takes on a warm, diffused glow. It suits a bedroom, a reading corner or a hallway where you want something soft overhead rather than sharp and bright.

Measuring 65cm wide and 25cm high, this is the largest of the three sizes in the Esther range, and at around 1kg it stays light enough to hang without fuss. It is made flexible in how you use it, so it works as a pendant shade, on a floor base or fitted to a table lamp base, and it is compatible with E27 fittings. One of our favourite details is that you can flip it 180 degrees to change the direction of the light and shift the look, letting the feathers either open upward or spill softly downward. Assembly takes around five minutes, and we include a video to walk you through it.

The goose feathers we use are certified to the RDS standard, which matters to us and, we hope, to you. To keep the Light Blue colour looking its best, we would keep it out of direct sunlight, as prolonged sun exposure can cause fading over time. Paired with a warm bulb of around 2700K, the shade throws a soft, even light that flatters a room in the evening. Whether you hang it low over a bedside table or let it float above a seating area, we think this lampshade brings a quiet, tactile softness that is hard to find in more rigid designs.
