Description

Sixteen AAA alkaline cells come in one Energizer Max maxi pack, each a standard 1.5V LR03 that drops straight into any AAA slot. AAA is the slimmer of the two common household sizes, about the width of a pencil, and it will not stand in for an AA however alike the two look loose in a drawer. Alkaline is the everyday chemistry of the battery tin, equally at home with the slow steady drain of a wall clock and the heavier bursts a wireless mouse or a games controller asks for.

A pack of sixteen is bought for the drawer rather than for one job. Television and set top box remotes, wireless keyboards and mice, digital thermometers, kitchen scales, children's toys, bicycle lights, door chimes and small LED torches all run on AAA, and most homes have more of them than they think. If you are replacing cells in a remote or a toy, change the whole set at once rather than mixing a fresh cell with a tired one. For an office, a classroom or a holiday let, sixteen cells in one blister is the simpler way to keep a shelf stocked.

The retail pack prints a 10 year shelf life, so spares bought now should still be usable when you reach the back of the pack, and it also states that the cells include recycled materials. Leave unused cells in the blister until you need them; loose cells rolling about with keys and coins can bridge across their own terminals. Nothing here needs charging and nothing needs a cable, which is why AAA alkaline is still the default for low drain electronics. How many cells do I actually receive?

Can I put these in a battery charger instead of rechargeables?

No. Alkaline cells are not rechargeable and must never go in a charger. A rechargeable AAA is 1.2V nominal against 1.5V here.

How long will one cell run my remote or mouse?

The manufacturer does not print a runtime figure, and it would vary widely anyway: a wall clock draws far less than a games controller.

What does the 10 year figure on the pack mean?

It is the shelf life the pack prints, meaning unused cells kept in the blister should still hold useful charge years after purchase.

Should I mix these with the older cells already in a device?
