Description

The Energizer 370/371 is a 1.55V silver oxide button cell battery supplied in a 10-pack. The 370 and 371 designations refer to the same physical cell — SR920SW in IEC nomenclature — with equivalent voltage, capacity and dimensions. Silver oxide chemistry delivers a stable voltage output throughout the battery's discharge cycle, making it suitable for devices that require consistent power rather than tolerance for voltage drop.

These button cells power watches, calculators, medical instruments, small remotes, laser pointers and compact digital tools where a 9.5mm diameter x 2.05mm height cell is specified. The 10-pack format suits both individual users who want spares on hand and trade/workshop environments where multiple devices need battery replacement at intervals. Each cell is individually sealed until use to preserve shelf life.

The leak-resistant construction uses a seal designed to contain the electrolyte inside the cell casing during normal storage and discharge. The silver oxide chemistry itself is less prone to leakage than alkaline equivalents in button cell formats, particularly in low-drain applications like watches where the cell may remain in the device for 2-3 years. The 24mm packaging width and 5mm thickness per cell make the 10-pack compact enough for a toolbox or electronics drawer.

Frequently Asked

Are 370 and 371 batteries interchangeable?

Yes. Both designations refer to the same cell size and voltage (SR920SW in IEC terms). A device specifying 370 will accept a 371 and vice versa. The different numbers are legacy marketing codes from different manufacturers for the same physical battery.

What devices use these batteries?

Common applications include wristwatches, pocket calculators, small LED torches, medical glucose meters, laser pointers, key fob remotes and fitness trackers. Check your device's battery compartment or manual for the specified cell size before purchasing.

How long do they last?

In a typical quartz watch drawing 1-2 microamps, a silver oxide 370/371 cell lasts 2-3 years. In higher-drain devices like calculators with backlit displays or active remotes, expect 6-18 months depending on usage frequency. Shelf life when stored unused is approximately 5 years.

Can I use alkaline equivalents instead?

Alkaline button cells like LR920 have the same physical size but lower voltage (1.5V vs 1.55V) and a less stable discharge curve. Watches and precision instruments perform better with silver oxide due to the consistent voltage output. Alkaline equivalents are acceptable for less critical applications like toys or low-cost electronics.
