Description

The Empoli linear pendant light hangs three open wire-cage shades from a single black ceiling bar. Each cage is made of slim black steel bars that swell out beneath a brushed brass lampholder and draw in again towards the base, so the bulb inside stays on view. The fitting measures 90cm long, 20cm wide and 110cm tall overall. Each of the three lampholders takes an E27 bulb of up to 40W, and bulbs are not included, so the choice of bulb is yours. Its IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

Hung over a dining table, it puts a light at each end and one in the middle, so the whole length of the table is lit rather than just its centre. It works just as well above a kitchen island or a long breakfast bar in an open-plan room. The black and brushed brass pairing sits comfortably with dark wood tables and grey or neutral walls, and the open cages keep the look airy, so three shades never feel heavy over the table. There is no switch on the fitting itself: it is switched at the wall, from the light switch you already use.

The body is steel, finished in black with brushed brass on the three lampholders, and it hangs from slim black cords. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and weighs 3.54KG packed. As a wired-in ceiling light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download.
