Empatia LED Glass Table Lamp - Clear

The Empatia is a hand-blown clear glass table lamp built around a vertical LED light rod that rises from a compact circular base into the centre of an open-topped glass shade. The integrated 5W LED runs at 3000K warm white, and the transparent glass refracts the light source so the rod appears to glow from within the shade rather than behind it.

Available in three heights — 20cm small, 30cm medium and 40cm large — the Empatia suits bedside tables, console tables, sideboards and desks. The smallest version reads as an accent light next to a bed or on a hallway console, while the larger sizes work as ambient lights on a sideboard or living room side table. The base houses the driver and an inline switch, and the lamp runs from a standard UK mains plug.

The shade is shaped from blown glass with a soft heart-like silhouette, narrower at the foot and rounded at the shoulders before opening at the top. Because the glass is fully transparent, the lamp takes on the colour of whatever sits behind it during the day and reads as a sculptural glass object when unlit. Each shade carries minor variation in thickness and form, a characteristic of the hand-blown process rather than a defect.

Does the lamp need a separate bulb?

No. The Empatia uses an integrated 5W LED light rod that runs through the centre of the shade. There is no socket and no replaceable bulb — the LED is built into the lamp itself.

Which size suits a bedside table?

The 20cm small version is the typical choice for a bedside table, where its 16cm diameter sits comfortably alongside a clock or book. The 30cm medium suits wider bedsides and console tables, while the 40cm large works best on sideboards and living room side tables.

How is the glass cleaned?

Wipe the glass shade with a soft, lint-free cloth. For fingerprints or marks, use a barely-damp microfibre cloth with a small amount of standard glass cleaner sprayed onto the cloth rather than directly onto the lamp. Disconnect from the mains before cleaning.
