Description

The Elsa is a 5-light cluster pendant suspending five hand-blown glass shades in clear, chrome, bronze, champagne and copper finishes from a single gold-toned canopy. Each shade houses a frosted inner cone that diffuses light from an E27 bulb outward through the coloured glass, casting layered tones across the surrounding space. The shades hang at staggered drops between 350mm and 2400mm on individual cables, creating a sculptural arrangement across a vertical span rather than a single horizontal plane.

Designed for double-height hallways, voids above staircases, and dining areas with ceiling heights of 3m or above, the Elsa works best where the vertical drop can be appreciated from multiple angles. The 685mm diameter spread at full extension suits tables and islands 1.6-2m wide, while the staggered height configuration prevents the cluster feeling bottom-heavy. Each shade accepts a standard E27 bulb up to 60W, allowing flexibility to pair warm filament lamps for ambient lighting or cooler LED for functional brightness. Dimming capability depends on the bulb chosen and a compatible wall dimmer.

The hand-blown glass gives each shade slight variation in tonal depth and surface texture, so the bronze may read darker or lighter depending on the individual piece. The chrome and copper finishes are reflective metal-toned glass rather than solid metal, catching and bouncing light between the shades when lit. The frosted inner cone prevents glare while allowing the outer coloured glass to project its tone onto nearby surfaces. The combined weight of 5.1kg requires a ceiling fixing rated for pendant loads, and the gold canopy measures approximately 200mm diameter to cover a standard UK ceiling rose.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does the Elsa take?

Each of the five shades takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED or vintage-style filament bulbs in the 2700K-3000K range to complement the mixed glass tones.

Can the drop heights be adjusted?

Yes. Each shade hangs on an individual cable that can be shortened during installation to adjust the staggered drop configuration. The minimum drop is 350mm and maximum is 2400mm per shade.

Is the Elsa dimmable?

The fitting itself is dimmer-compatible. You will need dimmable E27 bulbs and a compatible wall dimmer to control the brightness. Not all LED bulbs dim smoothly, so choose bulbs rated as dimmable for best results.

What ceiling height is needed?

The Elsa is designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 3m or above where the staggered vertical drop can be appreciated. In lower-ceilinged rooms the cluster may feel compressed and the bottom shade may hang too low over a table or worktop.
