Description

The Elsa is a 225mm bell-shaped glass pendant with a chrome-plated outer shade and a frosted glass inner cone. The chrome exterior reflects ambient room light and gives the fitting a mirror-like finish, whilst the frosted inner cone diffuses downward light from the E27 bulb socket (bulb sold separately). The contrast between the reflective outer and diffused inner creates layered light output.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and breakfast bars, the Elsa suits ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.5m. The drop is adjustable from 350mm minimum to 2350mm maximum on installation, allowing the pendant to be set 700-900mm above a worksurface or dining surface depending on room proportion. The chrome canopy fits a standard UK ceiling rose and the cable runs through the central suspension rod.

The glass shade is formed in two parts: the outer bell is vacuum-plated with chrome to create the reflective finish, and the inner cone is acid-etched to produce the frosted surface. This dual-layer construction gives a depth to the shade that single-layer pendants lack. The chrome tone pairs with stainless steel appliances, polished nickel hardware and monochrome interiors, whilst the 225mm diameter makes the pendant suitable for islands and tables in the 1.2-1.8m range without overpowering smaller dining settings.

What bulb does it take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for dining or kitchen island lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The pendant itself does not restrict dimming, but both the bulb and the dimmer must support the function.

What drop height works for a dining table?

The pendant typically hangs 700-800mm above a dining table surface. For a standard 2.4m ceiling height with a 750mm table, the pendant would use approximately 900mm of the available 2350mm maximum drop. The suspension rod can be cut to length during installation.

How is the chrome shade cleaned?

Wipe the chrome outer with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For fingerprints or smudges, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works well. Avoid abrasive cleaners or polishes that can scratch the plated finish. The frosted inner cone can be cleaned with the same method.
