Description
The Ellerwick in antique brass takes the same stacked rectangle base and pairs it with a black shade, standing 500mm tall, 360mm wide and 170mm deep. The shallow depth is the useful part: the lamp sits close to a wall without the shade overhanging the edge of a narrow surface. One 10W E27 LED lamp lights it. At 2.9kg it stays where you put it, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms. Antique brass and black is a darker pairing than the nickel version, and it holds its own against strong paint colours.
Black shades behave differently from pale ones. Less light passes through the fabric, so more of it is thrown up and down, which gives a sharper pool on the table and a brighter wash on the wall behind. That makes the Ellerwick a good choice for a reading corner, a desk, or a bedside table where you want the light contained rather than spread through the whole room. On a hall console a pair either side of a mirror works well. The antique brass reads warm with walnut, oak and darker greens and blues.
The base is metal in an antique brass finish, with a plain rectangular black shade. Construction is Class 2 and double insulated. Antique finishes are deliberately uneven in tone, so clean gently: a soft dry cloth for dust and a barely damp one for marks, dried immediately, with no polishes or abrasive creams, which will cut through the aged surface. Brush the shade rather than wetting it. Let the lamp cool before changing it. Its sibling in satin nickel with a natural shade lights a cooler room, and the two can share a hallway without looking like a matched set.

Frequently Asked
What is it made of?
A metal base in an antique brass finish, built up from stacked rectangles, with a plain rectangular shade in black.
How should I clean an antique brass finish?
Gently. Dust with a soft dry cloth and use a barely damp one for marks, drying at once. Metal polish and abrasive creams will strip the aged tone, so keep them away.
How big is it?
500mm tall, 360mm wide and 170mm deep. The narrow depth means it fits a shallow console or a small bedside table without the shade hanging over the edge.
Which bulb does it need?
One 10W E27 LED lamp. E27 is the common larger screw fitting, so a replacement is easy to pick up.
Can I use it in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which covers dry indoor rooms only. Keep it to bedrooms, living rooms, halls and studies.
Is it dimmable?
No, it runs at a fixed level. If you want to drop the light later in the evening, put a dimmable fitting in the same room alongside it.
